Book Case Entertainment

Todd and I had fun updating a rickety old bookcase into an entertainment center for ourselves. Inspired by a photo my sister-in-law shared with us we decided to go for it. This bookcase is made out of veneered particle board. It had been used for many years, and we received it second hand. We wanted to salvage it by adding solid pieces of wood strengthening its structure to hold our TV and DVD player.

We removed the thin back panel and replaced it with pieces of pallet wood and other scrap pieces of wood we had. We re-enforced the shelves with “L” brackets.

We had the decorative railing on hand and decided to use it. It adds a nice touch I think. 

I love bookcase entertainment centers. This is a good start for us!
