Before & After,  House Remodel

Finished Office Space

I’m so happy to share our finished office space. A lot of work went into this room and we are thrilled with the result 🙂 One hand-made, DIY project at a time. Enjoy the pictures and let me know what you think. I’ve captioned each one to tell the story. I’ve also included some ‘Before’ pictures for fun, then immediately following is the ‘After’ photo of the new finished space. To read more about what we did in this room (in case you missed it) check out previous posts Office Space and Painted Floor in Office. I’ve also been playing around with Pintrist. So, some of these pictures will be up there soon on a Design board I’m trying to make. I’m a little slow at figuring out social media 🙂 haha

It is now where my drawing desk and stool sit. I refinished the desk (with Todd's help). We used a dark stain and I think it suits it much better then the original stain I picked. This desk is one I built years ago with my Dad to draw on in my bedroom at home as a teenager. Cork board squares for pinning reference material and inspirational poster cards hang above on the wall. My paints and other materials are in arms reach inside the woven trunk underneath and to left inside plastic stack-able units. The top of the desk lifts open where more supplies are stored.

An area rug for the kids to sit on and play while I work. The basket is full of some of their favorite toys and floor pillows.

This curtain softens up the wall and I draw it over the door to hide the mess in the next room (which is still a work in progress)
