Before & After,  House Remodel

Master Bedroom

We are wrapping up our home renovations! My husband and I are avid DIYer’s. Each room was a process we took in baby steps. This post I am sharing the transformation of our Master Bedroom.

Our bedroom revealed:

Our Bedroom we began by transforming a bathroom into a large walk in closet. We completely gutted it and put new wiring in and recessed lighting.  Read more on that in a previous post—–> Our Bedroom

The theme of our bedroom is Cowboy meets French ballerina. True to us. Todd the classic American Cowboy and me the French speaking, dancing ballerina. It reminds me of my wedding shower cake my sister made us. For a topper, she used a ceramic cowboy boot next to a ballet slipper. So, this room truly reflects our personal tastes. The minimal use of furnishings is done intentionally. We prefer it. The Scandinavian simple essential style also appeals to us and this can be seen throughout our home.

Cowboy style shines through with distressed furniture pieces, hung rope, and open display of cowboy hats and boots. French style shines through with the use of large mirrors and the color scheme – whites and soft gray mixed with tan.

One of my favorite ballet posters sits on the armoire. We chose to use the only window in the room as our headboard. A sheer curtain adds soft flair and reminds me of the ballet costumes I wore as a dancer. This placement of the bed makes open, easy access to the closet and amoire when entering the room. New flooring choice was a low pile carpet we laid ourselves over the damaged laminate old flooring.

Brushed bronze was the color choice for all metal in the door bracket, gate and light fixture.

Here are the ‘Before’ pictures (sometimes in multiples to show the stages) followed by the ‘After’ shot. Some of the ‘Before’ shots are scanned in (from when I did not yet own a digital camera).

I captioned them to make it easier to follow.

We are in love with it and. . . each other . . . still . . . I guess. Haha😘😀

I will be sharing one more final Post on our house remodel. This has been a rewarding journey, so happy you are following along!
